Zone 6a, shown in blue color on our map, covers the majority of Chicago’s area, including many well-known neighborhoods and suburbs. Some main areas in this zone include:

  • North Side: Neighborhoods like Rogers Park (60626), Edgewater (60660), and Uptown (60640)
  • Northwest Side: Including areas like Jefferson Park (60630) and Norwood Park (60631)
  • West Side: Neighborhoods such as Austin (60644) and Garfield Park (60624)
  • South Side: Covering areas like Englewood (60621), Auburn Gresham (60620), and Beverly (60643)

2. Zone 6b

Zone 6b, shown in green color on our map, covers a smaller portion of Chicago, primarily along the lakefront and in the downtown area. The warmer temperatures in this zone are largely due to the moderating effect of Lake Michigan. Some areas in Zone 6b include:
